All bootlegs from these labels are listed here.

Waggle, Toasted, TMOQ, TROPO, Finest Kind Records, The Swingin’ Pig

I don’t know why some are labeled as they were made in Australia, because i have found no link to that country regarding those record labels anywhere. The here mentioned labels all are linked to eachother in some way.

It started with Trade Mark Of Quality, TMOQ, in the 70’s. Two guys who tried to make the best quality bootlegs as they could. Colored vinyl and nice and shiny full color sleeves, inserts and other perfect things to make great bootlegs. The logo was a realistic looking pig, with the letters TMOQ placed arround it. The bootleg company was shut down mid 70’s and the 2 guys drifted apart.

Later on, in the mid 80’s, one of the guys started again with a new partner, and the “Toasted” label was born. From this little bootleg company, some other names sprung. Finest Kind, Waggle, Tropo and later on, the pig and the TMOQ logo popped up on some items with either of the “labels”. The TMOQ idea did stay out for a long while. The Toasted label kept on producing up to the mid 90’s, focussing on cd’s, pressed in Korea. In that time, some of the vinyl bootlegs were also made in Korea. There are labels missing, sleeves poorly printed, and the overall quality is less then the US pressings.

In europe, bootleggers started to press items too. In Germany “The Swingin Pig” label was “re-born”. A new logo, a cartoon pig was used, but also the “Trademark Of Quality” slogan was back in use, but now in Europe.

Title : Halloween On The Horizon (US version)
Format : 2 x 12 inch
Label : Waggle Records, Toasted Records, Finest Kind Records
Cat. NO. : WAG 1931
Date : 1988
Country : Australia?
Sound Quality : Medium

Comments : This is called this because the concert was recorded on Halloween’s eve, in a bar called The Horzion. The bootleg was most likely made in the US, because i can’t find any link to Australia, besides that it is mentioned on the back.

It is a nice gate-fold sleeve, full color, and the discs have nice solid look and feel. Full and complete disc-centers. The sound is good, but it is not perfect at all. Low parts and high tones make it hard to hear sometimes, but overall, a good listen. There is a Korean Re-Booted version around as well, see images below here, but the quality is not very good.

There was a mix-up with one other bootleg from the same company.  “Bad Boys, Great Noize“.
The title and cat.no. on the disc centers were mixed up when they were made, so those do not match the sleeves. The tracks on the labels to match what is actually on the discs though!

In some cases the sleeve will contain the discs with the same name / title, but then the tracks will not be correct.

Because of the name of this bootleg, it’s commonly known to have the 1987 Halloween Show on from 1987-10-31, The Horizon, Syracuse, NY, US. In fact, it has a near complete show from the same year, but 2 months later as content…. 1987-12-30, Perkins Palace, Pasadena, CA, US.

Title : Halloween On The Horizon (Korea version)
Format : 2 x 12 inch
Label : N/A
Cat. NO. : MT 14
Date : 1988
Country : Korea
Sound Quality : Medium

Comments : A bootleg “re-made” in Korea. The finish is way less, and it looks not as good. It’s not a gatefold sleeve, and not full color.
The bottom logo on white might be a later attached sticker. Tracks and all are the same, but the quality is nowhere near the original boot!

Title : Torpo Delux
Format : 2 x 12 inch
Label : Toasted Records
Cat. NO. : N/A
Date : 1989
Country : Australia
Sound Quality : Medium

Comments : The full color sleeve and disc-centers has an ice quality, but not the best audio.
The monotone color sleeve is a Korean re-release, a bootlegged bootleg. Bad and thin sleeve, rough printjob pasted onto a sticker. Very low quality copy.
